Immersing himself in learning about wine, Rahul meticulously studied every aspect of the craft. His determination led him to pursue his vision of creating divine and elegant wine, fueled by his unwavering attention to detail. From acquiring land for his winery to collaborating with renowned consultants and sourcing top-quality grapes, Rahul spared no effort in bringing his dream to fruition. Alongside his journey, he found love and unwavering support from his wife, who became his muse, motivating his creativity.
Driven by his pursuit of excellence, Rahul identified several industry practices that compromised the authenticity of wine production. These included heavy volume production, the use of low-quality grapes, rampant adulteration, substandard equipment, and high sugar content. Armed with these insights, Rahul resolved to create wine in its truest form—a divine and elegant beverage.
Drawing an analogy to the care taken in introducing a baby to new experiences, Rahul aimed to provide consumers with the best first drink possible. With a foundation built on quality, authenticity, and premiumness, he embarked on the creation of a boutique winery. Here, smaller batches of wine would be meticulously crafted, allowing him to perfect the art of winemaking and cater to consumers’ preferences for specific tannins, body, luster, notes, and flavors.
Every step of Rahul’s journey was marked by meticulous attention to detail. From selecting the perfect piece of land for his dream winery to partnering with top-notch wine consultants and procuring international-standard equipment, he left no stone unturned in his pursuit of perfection. Along the way, he found a partner in his wife, Shruti, whose eye for aesthetics, brand design expertise, and background in public relations and sales added further depth to their shared vision. Together, they nurtured their dream of creating a sensory delight—a testament to their dedication to the art of winemaking.

With over 8 years of successful corporate experience, Shruti Sadashivan has carved a path of dominance in the sales domain across multiple industries. Her resilience is evident in her ability to enhance and elevate the performance of any business she encounters. A dynamic speaker and avid learner, Shruti possesses a vivacious spirit and enjoys connecting with people, building meaningful relationships, and adding value to every environment she enters. She is adept at driving businesses and strategies with data-driven insights.
Shruti’s creativity and design acumen are integral aspects of her personality. She believes that her creative approach adds an extra dimension to tasks, allowing her results to stand out. Her love for wines has been a constant companion in both her work and personal life. Wines have served as a means to break the ice, initiate conversations, and bond with others. It was her shared interest in wines that deepened her connection with Rahul, her husband.
Rahul’s vision of running an efficient winery serving best-in-class wines resonated with Shruti, and together, they embarked on a journey to turn that vision into reality. Their countless discussions, information exchanges, and research about the wine industry strengthened their bond and fueled their determination to fill the gap in India’s wine market. In 2019, they took a significant step towards this goal by establishing Takae Wines.
As the Creative Director and Business Head of Takae Wines, Shruti oversees branding, partnerships, public relations, sales, and communication. Her firsthand experience as a wine consumer ensures that every aspect of Takae Wines is crafted to delight and resonate with its audience. With a focus on elegance, premium quality, and class, Takae Wines promises to deliver an authentic, honest, and bold experience to its community, embodying a sheer romance between color, aroma, texture, tannins, and acidity throughout its journey.
